Hardwood in boxes and pillar - Aug. 29th
Went on Saturday during the rain. Inside, there are boxes filled with the hardwood, soon to be installed. The pillar is painted white. We were debating putting a bench seat there instead of the pillar, glad we went with the pillar. I would have loved to put a totem pole. Added a picture of the basement bathroom tub tile. There was one earlier but I used a flash this time, colour is closer to the real thing. The room with the 3 windows is the master bedroom.

Paint trim and tile - Aug. 25
Quick trip at lunch to talk to a company about top soil / seed / sod. At the house, there were so many trucks in the lane way and workers inside the house. They were painting the trim, installing more tile, working on the bench seat in our shower and putting in the electric pad in the sun room floor. Was able to sneak a few pictures.

Tile, circular drive and trim- Aug. 21st
We are off today, Friday. The grading is now completed, love the circular drive. Started to look into top soil and seed. Lots to cover. The guys are installing the tile in the upstairs bathrooms. Picked rectangular tile, love it. The windows and baseboards are being trimmed. It is all coming together.

Grading, sun room and more grading - Aug. 19th
Went to the house after work to check on progress. They graded, I can't believe the change in the back and front. I like to call the water side the front but most people call it the back. Isn't it called water front? The sun room looks and smells great. Can picture the Christmas tree in the sun room. A real tree this year. The mosquitos were hungry and biting. The bin was moved away from the front of the house to the road. Can see the full front now.

Primer and cedar in sun room - Aug. 17th
Drove out to see primer in master bath, colour choice too dark. The picture doesn't pull out the true colour. Changed the colour to "fusion" from "new london burgundy". The cedar is being installed in the sun room. What a beautiful smell, looks perfect. This will be the cottage room. The dining room is "chocolate fondue". Just the name makes you hungry. The kitchen install date is planned for Sept. 8th. Enjoy.

Old pictures - Aug. 12th (July 2007 & April 2009)
Went to the house yesterday. They are sanding the drywall. Didn't take pictures because it wouldn't really look much different than the previous pictures. Decided to add a few pictures to the blog anyway. One picture was taken April 18th, 2009, almost 4 months ago. It is of the lot before the digging started. The digging started April 23rd. The other picture was taken July 8, 2007 before we bought the lot. We bought the lot in the Fall of 2007. Will take pictures on Friday, by then there may be primer on the walls. Wait till you see the paint colours - the names are rocky road, tiramisu, chocolate fondue, new london burgundy and mount saint anne.

Mudding - Aug. 7th
The walls are being mudded. This is making the house feel more real. Picked out our paint colours last night, not easy. We may change a few choices. There are so many colours and we all have to agree. The choices became easier to make after a glass of wine. What to do where the pillar should go? Do we put a pillar or put in a seat instead? I have added a different view of the house, I am standing on the septic bed taking the picture. What a beautiful day. Hard to believe we will actually be living in this house. It is not just a place to drive to and visit.

Rounded corners - Aug. 3rd
Aug. 3rd visit, brought kayaks back from our trip. As we were taking the kayaks out on the lake, we frightended a wild turkey. Later we saw some small birds with long beaks and long skinny legs - maybe sand pipers. One of the workers from lot 32 jumped in for a swim. In the house, the rounded corners are being added to the dry wall. Great job. Hard to believe we could be in the house in less than 2 months. Beautiful long weekend. Only rained one day, 2 days of sun.
