Dry Wall, Shakes and 2nd culvert-July 30th

What a beautiful sunny day - at last. Went out after supper. What a difference to have the walls covered with dry wall, the rooms are more defined. Have to start thinking of colour. The floors will be dark so light colours might be the way to go. The shakes blend in very well with the outside colours. The 2nd culvert will give us a circular drive. Enjoy the pictures and the long weekend. Regatta weekend at Shawn's cottage (since we no longer have our cottage), 10 young adults, a baby and us. Party time!

Insulation, 2nd culvert and more shakes - July 25th

The house is being insulated, upstairs and down. Work is being done on the grading at the front and the 2nd culvert is in. Even with all the rain these past days, more siding and shakes have been installed. We were lucky, the sun came out when we were there.

Shakes started - July 21st

Visit with Mom and Misha. Mom and Misha are enjoying the view from the deck. Notice Misha's paws, she has made herself right at home. The shakes have started around the base of the sunroom. Went with a lighter colour for the shakes. Beautiful sunset. I am thinking the house on lot 37 will block some of my sunset view once they build. For now, we will enjoy.

More siding - July 19th

Visit on way to pick up daughter for her birthday dinner. The siding continues. Didn't stay long.

Evening trip with Misha - July 18th

Took Misha out to the house to walk around the lake and view the setting sun.

2nd deck done and siding has started - July 17

The 2nd deck is finished and looks perfect. Love that you can walk out from the living room onto the deck and look out at the lake. The siding has started, will take many days. The colour blends in very nicely with the stone. Inside the electrical is being insalled. The insulation has been delivered, not yet installed. Enjoy the picutres.

Stone work and 1st deck done - July 10th

The house was locked when we arrived but took pictures of the finished stone work and smaller deck. Stayed until the mosquitos came out in full force. Misha loves running in the tall weeds. Took a picture of the neighbours house with lights on. Beautiful.

Stone work, decks, fire places - July 9th

Beautiful day. The stone work is almost done. The colour is perfect with the windows and roof shingles. We climbed up on the small deck, looks great. The fireplace in the basement and upstairs is in and wrapped in plastic. Lots of progress on the house.

Stairs in, deck and stone starting - July 6th

Took a side trip when driving our daughter home from her volleyball game. She came with us to see the progress on the house. Beautiful night. The basement stairs and garage stairs are in. The stone is delivered and ready to be installed. The decks have started. The views of the lake from the inside are lovely and peaceful.

Canada Day, Kayaks hit West Pond Beach, July 1st

Happy 142nd Birthday Canada. Took our kayaks on the lake. What a beautiful afternoon it turned out to be. Borrowed a hat from our neighbour, forgot mine. Put a make shift dock at the shore to help us get in the kayaks. It was peaceful and relaxing going around the lake. Took a look at the shorelines, the depths and some weeds. Saw a big frog on our shoreline and heard another one. What is a lake without frogs.

Garage floor and Furnace - June 27th

Drove out Saturday afternoon. The garage floor is poured and polished and the Energy Star furnace is in. Camera batteries died. The charger is packed away in some box most likely in storage. Will have to buy a new charger. Took a walk around and lots 26 and 32 are moving along. Announcing rain over the next week. This might slow down the other lots but we should be good to move ahead. Next time we visit, we will try to take kayaks on the lake. Plan to come out Canada Day.
